This report involves collecting information from a working adult.
This assignment is about how ICT affects the everyday life of a working adult.
You must categorise your uses into work social, work personal, home social and home personal
It is important for you to find out specifically how ICT has affected work styles of the adult over time.
Do they have digital TV at home. Is it satellite, cable or freeview. How often do they watch it? What sort of channels do they watch? How much does it cost? Do they subscribe to any extra channels?What sort of extra services does it offer over an old fashioned analogue TV? Would they ever go back to analogue TV with just 5 channels. What are the advantages and disadvantages of digital TV?
Does you subject have a mobile phone? If so what do they use it for? How does this differ from your own use of a phone? Does she or he use emails to communicate at home? If so why do they use emails, send files, pictures etc? Do they have a digital camera? What are the advantages/disadvantages compared to their old cameras?
How does your subject communicate at work? Perhaps they have a walkie talkie or used a compuetrised telephone system. Do they send and receive emails for work purposes? What are these amails about? Do they send and receive faxes?
How has the way your chosen adult does their work changed over time as a result of new technology?
Does your subject use a PC at work? How long every day do they sit in front of a computer? Do they know about the law concerning health and safety and computers. What programs do they use? Do they use non-specialist programs like MSWord, MSExcel etc or do they use specialst software and if so what?
