GCSE Music at Waltheof
Music is an exciting and challenging option. The ability to play a musical instrument s an integral part of GCSE Music and pupils will be expected to continue the practical work they begin in Year 9. The teaching and final examination in the subject is split into four main areas:
Composing (2 Compostitions. 1 to be Music for Special Events) 25% Internally marked and Externally moderated.
Performing (One solo and one ensemble) 25% Internally marked and Externally moderated.
Integrated Assignment (One composition commssioned by the exam board) 25% Externally moderated.
Listening and Appraising Test (Listening and written paper of 1hr and 15mins) 25% Externally Moderated
